Question

Asalaamu alikum

I would like to ask how would someone make wudhu if they have covid-19? We have been advised that you should avoid touching the mouth, face and nose. These are parts which are touched when making wudhu. (may Allah protect us)

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The precautionary measure of avoiding touching one’s face etc. refers to unnecessarily touching the face with dirty or infected hands. There is no harm in touching one’s face or mouth with clean hands. Therefore, one will perform the normal wudhu.
