Unpaid Zakat as a youth

Question
Another query on zakat was, I started paying zakat when i started working and had earned over nisaab value. I realised that when I was younger aged 13 upto 18 , I used to have savings of 1 000usd on which I never paid zakat at that time. Im not sure whether dad paid zakat on it as well. Now when paying zakat, I realised that I had savings when young which I never considered at that time. What is the best way forward. Should I pay zakat on that value now?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, zakat is necessary on an adult should he/she possess the minimum nisaab for a year. Adulthood is at buloogh.
Accordingly, once you became baaligh, zakat would be necessary one lunar year after the first time you possessed the minimum nisaab.[1]
Firstly, you should enquire from your father whether he paid zakat on your behalf. If he did, then you do not need to pay it again.[2]
If he did not pay for you, then you must make an over-estimate of how many years you think you had the nisaab amount and above and calculate zakat accordingly.

ولو أدى عنه بغير إذنه فالقياس عدم الإجزاء كالزكاة وفي الاستحسان الإجزاء لثبوت الأذن عادة ذكره العلامة نوح
