Question
Assalamualaikum did Islam copy 99 names from Zoroastrianism that’s what non muslims say Jazakallah
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Anyone can stand up and make claims. True claims are backed by concrete evidence and not a mishmash of hearsay and speculation.
Zoroastrianism has 101 names for god. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam informed us of 99 names of Allah. The 101 names found in Zoroastrianism contain certain names that are not found in our religion of Islam.
Therefore, the only actual similarity between the two is that both religions contain a concept of ‘Names of God’. We do not see why or how this should be a problem.
An important point to note is that Almighty Allah send thousands of Prophets before Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and we do not know anything about them. All we know is that the central message of Tawheed was at the forefront of every prophets da’wah.
