Police Clearance Certificate

Question

Assalamualaikum,

I have a question about taking police clearence certificate for citizenship application of finland. Police clearence certificate should be a very common requirement for a person to apply citizenship of a country. But what if finland’s law recognise a specific rule of islam as a crime and also insults it. As a muslim i neither belive the rule of islam is a crime nor i insult. But my question is, alhough i have not followed that particular rule of islam as it is not compulsory for me to do now(as far as i know that specific rule of islam may be compulsory for sometimes also maybe not compulsory sometimes. It depends on situation. By situation of future, it may be compulsory for me). As a result, i have not done any crime now according to finland’s law. But by submitting the crime record certificate, am i agreeing with the finland’s law that i describe that specific rule of islam the same as how Finland’s law describe that specific rule( a crime and insults it).

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

A police clearance certificate is simply a document to prove that one has not violated any laws of the country. Which laws the country recognizes and which laws the individual personally subscribes to has no bearing on the issue.

Accordingly, there is nothing wrong in obtaining a police clearance certificate.
