Question
I wanted to ask if there is a difference in reward making someone pray the kalima to become a Muslim and taking him to a molana to make him pray the kalima
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said,
فَوَاللَّهِ لأَنْ يُهْدَى بِكَ رَجُلٌ وَاحِدٌ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ حُمْرِ النَّعَمِ
Translation: “By the qasam of Allah, for one individual to be guided through you is better for you than a whole lot of red camels.” (Bukhari – 2942)
The reward is for the one who was the means to make someone embrace Islam. Saying the shahadah can be done anywhere, provided the one teaching him the shahada knows it well and explains it to him adequately. Having said that, usually it is better to connect new Muslims to a learned person who can assist him in learning more about the Deen.
