Children using toys and teddy bears with eyes

Question

Assalamualaikum
Hope your well

Please can you guide us on the ruling or Hadith for giving kids toys with eyes
My father in law keeps taking my daughter to the shops and she keeps buying Teddy bears and dolls.
My husband and I have been refusing as it’s not allowed.
Please can you help in this matter

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The use of teddy bears, dolls, and other stuffed animals with eyes and faces is not permitted. Blank faced dolls and toys should be used instead. If teddy bears are already purchased, then the face should be effaced by removing the eyes, nose, mouth etc. One may either remove them or stitch a blank piece over the face to cover it tightly and fully.
