Question
Assalamualaikum w.w
If someone goes for umra in ramadaan and it so happens that they have 29 fasts in Saudi…does that person have to keep one more fast since if he does eid in Saudi it will be that he made only 28 fasts
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Ramadhan is either 29 or 30 days. If due to being in two different locations, a person only fasted 28 days, he/she will have to keep one more fast after Eid.
Accordingly, in the enquired situation, the person will do Eid with the people in Saudi and then keep one qadha after.[1]
