Is Zakat due on gold jewellery worn regularly?

Question
I was recently told that zakat is not due on gold that is kept for the purpose of wearing and not as an investment. Therefore, if one wears the jewelry often, on those pieces of gold jewelry, zakat is not due. If that is correct, how does one define “regularly”.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Unfortunately, you were misinformed. In the Hanafi madhab, Zakaat is due on all forms of gold and silver, whether in raw form or as a piece of jewellery, whether the jewellery is worn and used or is kept aside as valuables.[1]
Jewellery made from other precious metals besides gold and silver will not be subject to Zakaat provided they are not stock for trade.[2]
