Sucking thumb whilst fasting

Question

I have this problem and i can’t find a answer online anywhere, it’s that I still suck my thumb. does doing this invalidate my fast, I am trying and taking steps everyday to get rid of this act.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sucking one’s thumb does not invalidate the fast. Your fast is intact.

One should avoid gathering saliva in the mouth and swallow it.[1]
