Question
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Does pinprick test done during sugar test break wudhu?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, flowing blood nullifies wudhu.
If blood flows after having the diabetes prick test, then wudhu will be nullified, and one will have to renew his/her wudhu. [1]
Usually, blood flows out for a diabetes machine test, as the blood is required to be tested.
However, if blood does not flow or move from its place, then wudhu will not be nullified.

قلت: أرأيت رجلاً به دُمَّل أو قَرْحَة (1) فخرج (2) منه دم أو قَيْحٌ أو صَدِيدٌ فسَالَ عن رأس الجرح؟ قال: عليه أن يُعيد الوضوء. قلت: فإن كان قليلاً لم يَسِلْ عن رأس الجرح؟ قال: فلا (3) وضوء عليه

قلت: أرأيت رجلاً به جرح وَكَزَه (15) فخرج منه دم قليل فمسحه ثم خرج منه (1) أيضاً فمسحه وذلك كله قبل أن يسيل؟ قال: إن كان (2) الدم لو ترك ما مسح منه سال (3) أعاد الوضوء، وإن (4) كان لو ترك لم يَسِلْ لم ينقض وضوءه
