Assalamu Alaykum Mufti Sahib,
Is the correct word ‘Durood’ or ‘Darood’?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The correct Persian/Urdu pronunciation is ‘Durood’ (with a dhamma on the daal).[1]
