Can a Muslim donate to a church

Question
Assalaamualaikum.
I want to ask if it is permissible for a Muslim to donate to a Christian church member who comes to ask for a donation for infrastructure building or general operational costs donation.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is not permissible to donate to a church as that entails assisting in sin.
Allah says in the Holy Quran,
وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ (المائدة: 2)
Translation: “And do not assist one another in sin and oppression.”
Donate instead to the poor and needy Muslims.
