Question

is it permissible for a woman to go to a gym? were there is only woman only
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, women should not exit the home without a good reason. Therefore, if one is able to maintain a fitness regimen at home, that is better.
However, if one is unable to do so and thinks that a group fitness regimen will assist in maintaining ones health, then it is permissible to go to a female only gym provided:
- There are no males around at all
- The awrah of the women is covered and not exposed through tight clothing
- There are no non-Muslim females as a Muslim woman cannot expose anything besides her hands and face to a non-Muslim female.[1]
- There are no violations of Shari’ah such as music etc.

(قوله والذمية) محترز قوله المسلمة (قوله فلا تنظر إلخ) قال في غاية البيان: وقوله تعالى – {أو نسائهن} [النور: 31]- أي الحرائر المسلمات، لأنه ليس للمؤمنة أن تتجرد بين يدي مشركة أو كتابية اهـ ونقله في العناية وغيرها عن ابن عباس، فهو تفسير مأثور وفي شرح الأستاذ عبد الغني النابلسي على هدية ابن العماد عن شرح والده الشيخ إسماعيل على الدرر والغرر: لا يحل للمسلمة أن تنكشف بين يدي يهودية أو نصرانية أو مشركة إلا أن تكون أمة لها كما في السراج، ونصاب الاحتساب ولا تنبغي للمرأة الصالحة أن تنظر إليها المرأة الفاجرة لأنها تصفها عند الرجال، فلا تضع جلبابها ولا خمارها كما في السراج اهـ
