Question
Is it permissible to do blood transfusion? To donate blood as well as receive it when needed?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible to receive a blood transfusion as it is a medical need. Due to the perpetual need for blood in hospitals/banks, it is also permissible to donate blood.[1]
