Question

If you have an argument with your wife and she asked for freedom but at that very time you utter no words.

After some time the matter comes to mind and to thought the wife’s question comes and you in your mind say ‘YOU ARE FREE TO GO’ to oneself.

No intention of divorce.

Does talaq take place?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Talaq does not occur.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
