Can Muslim women model for fashion?

Question
Are Muslim ladies allowed to model for fashion clothes ?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said,[1]
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ عَوْرَةٌ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَتِ اسْتَشْرَفَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ، وَأَقْرَبُ مَا تَكُونُ مِنْ وَجْهِ رَبِّهَا وَهِيَ فِي قَعْرِ بَيْتِهَا
Translation: “A woman is awrah (to be concealed). When she exits the house, shaytan uses her (to entice the gazes of men and seduce them). The closest she is to her Rabb is when she is in the depth of her home. (Ibn Khuzaimah)
Modelling for fashion, even if the awrah is covered, places the woman on a platform where her sole purpose is to be looked at by others. Therefore, it should not be done.
