Question
Assalamualaikum. I want to ask regarding divorce.
From my understanding if a man issues three divorces all at once has the divorce still taken place?
I have heard it is sinful but has a divorce still taken place?

Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Issuing three divorces in one sitting/statement is sinful. However, the three divorces will occur. This is a matter of consensus across the four madhaahib.[1]
