Qasr Salah when I do not know how long I will end up staying for medicals

Question
Aslm ww
If a person travels to another town for medicals. Doesn’t know when they will return home as it all depends on the medicals.
Do they pray qasr the entire time?
They have already been there 10 days but there’s no definite time
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
A musafir who does not know how long he/she will end up staying at a destination will continue performing Qasr salah even if his/her stay goes beyond 15 days.[1]
In the event the musafir then finds out a proper date and timeframe, then if from the time of finding out until the date of departure/return homebound is less than 15 days, he will continue performing qasr. If it is more than 15 days, he will begin performing full salah.

وفي الفتاوى الغياثية : المسافر إذا دخل مصرا وهو على عزم أنه متى حصل غرضه خرج لا يصير مقيما وإن مكث سنة إلا إذا كان مقصوداً يعلم أنه لا يحصل في أقل من خمسة عشر يوماً فإنه يصير مقيماً وإن لم ينو الإقامة، انتهى

الأمر الثاني: نية الإقامة، وهو أن ينوي إقامة خمسة عشر يوماً في مكان واحد صالح للإقامة، فإذن لا بد من أربعة أشياء:
الشيء الأول : نية الإقامة حتى لو دخل المسافر مصراً ومكث فيه شهراً لانتظار قافلة أو لحاجة أخرى، وهو يقول: أخرج اليوم أو غداً ولم ينو الإقامة لا يصير مقيماً
الشيء الثاني : مدة الإقامة، وأقلها خمسة عشر يوماً، فلو نوى إقامة ما دونها، فهو مسافر
