Question
Assalamulaikum, i want to ask you guys to confirm whether this website’s halal audio is actually halal or not. I want make minecraft (game) related content with of course no haram content. That is why i wanted to use halal background music but is not able to confirm whether its halal or not.
The website link: https://aswati.co/vocals
The website states:
What does “instrument-free” or “vocals only” mean?
Instrument-free means the audio is made entirely from the human voice — no guitars, pianos, or synths. This is the halal, music-free background audio many Muslim creators look for: studio-quality nasheed (anasheed) and ambient vocal beds that sound professional without using musical instruments. New to this? Read our background nasheed guide.
Please help me confirm whether this is permissible to use as a background audio for my videos and if it is halal, Thank you!
I uploaded its audios so you may also listen to it if necessary. I was only able to upload 3 file due to the limit, but if you guys have time pls check them out.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Musical instruments are not prohibited because of the instrument, rather because of the sounds produced. Therefore, these sounds, no matter the source, will remain equally prohibited. Accordingly, there is no such concept as ‘Halal Music’.[1]
As for sounds that do not resemble any musical instrument but rather the human voice, tones, inflections, and humming, then these remain permissible. However, these too are to be avoided except when necessary.
