Question
Assalamualaikum ww. Mufti saab is it allowed for one to recite Quran with head uncovered precisely for a lady?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The Qur’an is the speech of Allah Ta’ala. When one is reciting the Qur’aan, he/she is conversing with Allah Ta’ala. [1]
It is important for the one reciting the Qur’aan to have utmost respect and reverence for the Qur’an.[2]
Whilst, it is not a requirement to cover the head when reciting the Qur’aan, it is amongst the etiquettes and a mark of reverence for the Qur’aan.
Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan:
وَمَنْ يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ
Translation: Whoever honours the landmarks of Allah, then this (respect for these landmarks) denotes Taqwa in a person’s heart.
(Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 32)

التبيان في آداب حملة القرآن (ص: 70)
فأول ذلك يجب على القارئ الإخلاص كما قدمناه ومراعاة الأدب مع القرآن فينبغي أن يستحضر في نفسه أنه يناجي الله تعالى ويقرأ على حال من يرى الله تعالى فإنه إن لم يكن يراه فإن الله تعالى يراه
فتح الكريم المنان في آداب حملة القرآن (ص: 1، بترقيم الشاملة آليا)
وأن يراعي الأدب مع القرآن، فيستحضر في ذهنه أنه يناجي ربه ويقرأ كتابه، فيتلوه على حالة من يرى الله تعالى، فإن لم يكن يراه، فإن الله سبحانه وتعالى يراه، وذلك بأن يقدر كأنه واقف بين يدي الله تعالى، وهو ناظر إليه ومستمع منه
وأن يلبس ثياب التجمل كما يلبسها للدخول على الأمير، وأن يجلس عند القراءة مستقبل القبلة، مستويا، ذا سكينة ووقار، مطرقا رأسه غير مترفع، ولا على هيئة التكبر، بحيث يكون جلوسه وحده كجلوسه بين يدي معلمه
رجل أراد أن يقرأ القرآن ينبغي أن يكون على أحسن أحواله يلبس صالح ثيابه ويتعمم ويستقبل القبلة لأن تعظيم القرآن والفقه واجب
