Question

I do tiffin from home due to financial strain. More males call for tiffin. Answering their calls and only necessary talking is done. Delivery also is under strict parda like through my small children. Will this be sin for me?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Your concern for observing Shar’i pardah and abstinence from intermingling with the opposite sex is commendable. May Almighty Allah reward you for your intentions and grant you barakah in your sustenance. Aameen.

If possible, try to use a male family member such as a husband or older son to facilitate orders from men. If this is not feasible, it is permissible for you to answer calls and take orders from males provided you do not venture beyond talk necessary for the transaction and do not adopt a sweet or alluring tone when communicating.[1]

Similarly, the method you have adopted of using your children to deliver the package is permissible. However, we would advise not to use extremely young children, especially girls, in order to protect them from strangers.
