Selling kidney for Hajj

One of my work mates wants to go to haj but say he is planning to sell a kidney to do hajj as he has not enough money is this even allowed Jzk

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Hajj is only obligatory on an individual who can afford it. Notwithstanding the fact that it is not permissible to sell body parts, one is not required to sell one’s body parts in order to perform Hajj. Almighty Allah has made Deen easy for us. There is no wisdom in making it hard for ourselves.

We understand the zeal to perform hajj. However, there is no need for extreme measures. Focus on making dua and if it is destined, it will happen. If not, Almighty Allah rewards us based on our intentions.
