Question
I’ve read that water entering the urethra and then exiting renders it impure. What should I do if water unintentionally enters my urethra almost every time and then comes out?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Biologically speaking, it is extremely difficult for water to actually enter the urethra as it is designed to stop anything from outside entering. It is likely that you are simply having waswasah of this occurring to you. Therefore, we feel you should see a doctor who may analyse your situation.
If there is a medical anomaly due to which this is happening, then our advice is that you wait after relieving and washing yourself until you are sure the water which may have entered has come out. You may also do a few quick exercises, or walk around for a little while, enabling the water to exit, then make your wudhu.
