Asking for help from graves

Question
Salam Is it permissible to ask from people in grave? Do they hear from distance when we call them? And if they hear , is it permanently i.e whenever we call them they hear? And what kind of help they can do?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is not permissible to ask for help or assistance directly from the deceased. It is shirk to believe that the dweller of the grave is accepting our prayer and causing benefit or harm to anyone.[1]
There is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars as to whether the deceased can hear in the grave or not. To summarise, we believe that they can hear when Allah allows them to hear.[2]
