Unable to locate supplier to pay debt

Question
Asallam-u-Alaikum,
I am inquiring in regards to Business items I purchased from a supplier on a loan at a Business Expo. We had mutual agreement to pay for the items on a later date. The supplier had provided me with his contact details to pay him back.
I had lost the suppliers number and cannot locate the person which I got the business items from. Also, I tried going to the Business’ expo next year but the person did not come back the next Year. I have tried going there for the past 4 years at the expo and the person have not come there. I am not sure if he as any relatives or friends either. Please advice what I can do in regards to the money I have to owe.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
If one has exhausted all possible methods of locating the owner/creditor, then the amount that us due must be given away in sadaqah on behalf of the owner/creditor.
However, should the owner/creditor be located eventually, and he demands the payment, it will be necessary to repay him the amount due.[1]

قلت: أرأيت الرجل يجد اللقطة كيف يصنع بها؟ قال: يعرفها حولاً، فإن جاء صاحبها دفعها إليه، وإن لم يجئ فهو بالخيار، إن شاء أمسكها حتى يجيء صاحبها، وإن شاء تصدق بها على أن صاحبها بالخيار إذا جاء (2)، إن شاء اختار الصدقة، وإن شاء اختار الضمان. قلت: فإن اختار الضمان فله أن يضمن الذي تصدق بها؟ قال: نعم. قلت: فهل بلغك في هذا أثر؟ قال: بلغني عن ابن مسعود الحديث الأول

قال أبو جعفر: (وإذا وجد الرجل لقطة، فينبغي له أن يعرف عفاصها، ووكاءها، وكيلها، وعددها، ووزنها، وأن يشهد أنه إنما يأخذها ليعرفها، ثم يعرفها بعد ذلك سنة في الأسواق، وعلى أبواب المساجد، فإن جاء صاحبها، واستحقها ببينة أقامها عليها: دفعها إليه، وإلا: تصدق بها، ولم يأكلها، إلا أن تكون ذا حاجة إليها)

ثم إذا عرفها ولم يحضر صاحبها مدة التعريف فهو بالخيار إن شاء أمسكها إلى أن يحضر صاحبها، وإن شاء تصدق بها على الفقراء ولو أراد أن ينتفع بها فإن كان غنيا لا يجوز أن ينتفع بها عندنا
